Insomnia Cookies

Hello all. For this blog post, I have chosen the cookie shop chain Insomnia Cookies. I myself am not a cookie connoisseur, but their presence stands out on Monroe street, right across from OSU (this is important for later). There are some dessert locations in Corvallis, but most of them are small businesses. Knowing that Insomnia Cookies is a franchise, I decided to do some research on their origin and presence in the marketing world. I was also curious as to why they were called that. Upon further investigation, I discovered many positive reviews on their cookies and services. The value proposition of Insomnia Cookies is actually abbreviated in the description of all their social media platforms: "Warm. Delicious. Delivered." The cookie chain's value proposition is warm and remarkably delicious cookies, able to be delivered at an obnoxious time of night. They represent a highlight to somebody's day (or night). They also value inclusivity, including a few vegan and g...

Mountain Cold Refershment in the form of Mondays Light

Hi everyone! I'm here to shed some light on Coors Light's Super Bowl ad campaign, as well as their most recent marketing flop (and rebound in process). This headline caught my eye not because I'm a loyal Super Bowl viewer or beer consumer, but because it reminded me of the alcohol company Corona's marketing plummet during the pandemic - also because I found it comical, and still question whether or not the mishap was purposeful. In this case, though, it's specifically the Monday after the big game. Due to it being one of the most difficult workdays for people who saw the game and reporters/others involved in its happening, it's been dubbed the "crustiest Monday of the year.  The parody of the packaging follows Coors Light...

About Me

Hi there! My name is Faith. My mother's side of the family is from Ukraine, and she grew up in what used to be known as the Soviet Union. Eventually, she immigrated to the States, where my parents met. My English name, Faith, when translated to Russian, is pronounced "Vera", hence the play on words seen in my blog title. Asides from school, I enjoy both leisurely and mentally stimulating passivities and activities. I enjoy playing piano, crafting (shown above), and reading what are categorized as "self help" books (I just find the crossover between sociology, psychology, and religion fascinating). Being exposed to many different outdoor sports growing up in the PNW kickstarted my interests in swimming, sailing, running, and skiing. I also love to spend and dedicate quality time to my family and the people I love; perhaps that is what I value over all other aspects of my life. After all, humans are biologically designed and flourish best when given and pursue th...
